Simpsonville Woman Alleges Facebook Harassment from Jilted Boyfriend

Crude, threatening texts and harassment on Facebook prompt woman to file report.

A Simpsonville woman alleged in a police report that her jilted ex-boyfriend has been using Facebook to try to wreck her life after their break-up, a Simpsonville Police report said.

The 21-year-old woman said she first received a text from the man stating that he planned to post nude photos of her on the social media site. He then allegedly began using the site to spread rumors that the woman was a drug user and say other bad things about her, the report said.

Further, the victim alleged, her ex has been posing as her on the site and saying bad things to her friends, "causing several of her friendships to end," the report said.

The police report added that while the woman was at the police department filing her complaint, the ex-boyfriend sent her a profanity-laced text stating he hoped that she would wreck her car and die.

Police called the suspect back, the report said, but the man hanged up when an officer asked the man's name. The reporting officer said he immediately called him back and left a message asking him to contact police, the report said. For good measure, police called back a second time advising the suspect not to call, text, or use social media against the woman any further, the report said.
