New CEO Laura Boles, who stepped into the role in 2024, often joins volunteers on routes, strengthening relationships with residents who depend on the service.

The deputy, who worked third shift in the Reidville area and had no prior similar issues, was dismissed under the agency’s social media policy, and the case has been forwarded to the state Criminal Justice Academy for review.

'Stand Your Ground' hearing set for Scott Spivey case as AG faces criticism for podcast comments (postandcourier.com) — A Spartanburg-based prosecutor is reviewing possible police misconduct and any “Stand Your Ground” issues in the killing of Scott Spivey, while a key immunity hearing in the civil case is set for the week of Feb. 17. Attorney General Alan Wilson is under fire for podcast comments defending the shooters as Spivey’s family and lawyers argue new evidence contradicts his account.
