The accused gunman in last week's shooting that forced a lockdown at local schools is behind bars in Orangeburg on unrelated charges, according to police

The accused gunman implicated in that forced a lockdown at local schools is behind bars in Orangeburg, according to WCBD-TV.
Summerville police told the TV station that Shawn Kitt, 22, is being held on unrelated charges in Orangeburg and will likely be sent back to Summerville once those charges are settled.
Police will charge Kitt with attempted murder, according to Summerville Police Capt. Jon Rogers. Investigators say Kitt pulled the trigger on Javone Washington on Aug. 25. He also faces charges of possession of a firearm during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence.
The South Main Street shooting forced the lockdown of Summerville High School, Gregg Middle School and the adult education center as police searched for the accused gunman.
