Busted: Man Charged with Attempted Murder of Teenager

A 20-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge after a Jan. 21 incident that left a 16-year-old juvenile with a stab wound in the back.

Eric Solomon Reid, 20, of Summerville is accused of stabbing the teenager in a fray at a residence in South Main Mobile Home Park. Reid received a $50,000, but has not posted bail. His first court appearance is March 8. Reid has a weapons law violation charge pending from February 2012. 

According to the incident report, a nearby Summerville Police officer was alerted to the scene by a loud noise and screaming. Upon his arrival, he heard someone say "He stabbed me with a knife." 

Witness accounts vary, but it appeared that there was a three-person argument, including Reid and the teenager. When things got out of hand, that's when Reid allegedly stabbed the younger man.

• Kevin Clevon Rivera, 24, of Summerville was arrested for pointing and presenting a firearm and distribution of drugs Jan. 2 at Canebreak. 
• Jarriot Keith Mazyck, 40, of Summerville was arrested for disobeying a lawful order Jan. 3 on Central Avenue. 
• Latina Lynette Mitchell, 40, of Summerville was arrested for assault and battery 3rd degree Jan. 3 on Challedon Drive. 
• Warren Ceil Gadson Jr., 23, of Holly Hill was arrested for breach of trust under $5,000 Jan. 5.
