Officers are targeting busy spots like Azalea Square, Holiday Drive, Highway 17-A, Nexton Parkway, and nearby neighborhoods. They’ll be watching closely for speeding, impairment, and distracted driving throughout the travel period.

Summerville releases 2026 schedules for citizen boards, commissions (postandcourier.com) — Summerville has published its full 2026 meeting calendar for key citizen boards, including Planning Commission, Board of Architectural Review, Zoning Appeals, Design Review, Tree Protection, and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, all meeting at Town Hall on Main Street. Residents, developers, and applicants are urged to review specific dates, times, and submittal deadlines now so their projects and requests aren’t delayed into later meetings.

SCHSL releases classification placement for 2026-2027 school year (wyff4.com) — Summerville sports fans should know Summerville High will compete in Class 5A for the 2026–27 school years, ranking second statewide by enrollment at 2,729 students. The SCHSL has finalized classifications, with regional alignments and any appeals to follow in early 2026.
   

4. Summerville man charged with first-degree domestic violence after alleged assault (postandcourier.com) — Police say a man was arrested after an alleged domestic assault in the Brandymill subdivision, prompting a large Summerville police and SWAT response earlier this month. Officers reported visible injuries to the victim and took the suspect into custody after phone negotiations. The felony case will proceed in Dorchester County court under South Carolina’s first-degree domestic violence statute.
