Dorchester 2 Schools Select Teachers of the Year

Dorchester County School District Two schools have announced their 2012-2013 Teachers of the Year. The 23 teachers that have been selected by their respective schools for this honor will now participate in the annual District Teacher of the Year selection process.

Those named are:

• Jennifer Fusco, Beech Hill Elementary; 
• Nancy Condon, DuBose Middle; 
• Charles “Peco” Sanders, Eagle Nest Elementary; 
• Jessica Rushin, Flowertown Elementary; 
• Jessica Nealious, Fort Dorchester Elementary; 
• Jennifer Battaglieri, Fort Dorchester High; 
• Benjamin Brewer, Givhans Alternative Program; 
• William Jack Mansor, Gregg Middle; 
• Allyson Kahler, Joseph R. Pye Elementary; 
• Lila Beckham, Knightsville Elementary; 
• Meagan Anderson, Newington Elementary; 
• Rebecca Accolla, Oakbrook Elementary; 
• Erin Craddock, Oakbrook Middle; 
• Allison Blanton, River Oaks Middle; 
• Margaret “Meg” Skow, Rollings Middle School of the Arts; 
• Martha B. Lowe, Spann Elementary; 
• Deborah Malinoski, Summerville Elementary; 
• Jennifer Roberts, Summerville High; 
• Kayana Hawkins, Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary; 
• and Shannon Eugley, William M. Reeves, Jr. Elementary.

“Quality teachers and quality instruction make our school district one of the best in South Carolina,” Dorchester School District Two Superintendent Joe Pye said in a statement. “Congratulations to these Master Teachers for this extraordinary honor.”

The selected teachers of the year will submit nomination packets to the district, and five honor teachers will be chosen. A committee of community members will select the Dorchester School District Two Teacher of the Year for 2013 from among the five honor teachers.

All Teachers of the Year will be honored at a dinner celebration on May 9th during Teacher Appreciation Week.  The highlight of this event will be the announcement of the 2013 District Teacher of the Year.
