Two separate tickets earn $350,000 for two Summerville residents.

Less than 10 miles separate two Summerville retailers that sold top prize winning lottery tickets this week.

The winner of the $250,000 prize stopped in the store and bought a Big Money game on his lunch break but admitted winning the cash killed his appetite. When he got to work he threw out his McDonald’s take out.

“I don’t play to lose, I play to win,” he said. “Wow!”

He’s paying off his house, and so too is the $100,000 winner.

A huge racing fan, the second big winner out of Summerville bought four of the Lottery’s FAN-tastic! instant tickets.

“My family knows if a race is on to leave me alone,” he said.

He won $5 on one ticket and then $100,000 on another.

“I don’t show a lot of excitement, but winning is kind of fun,” he said.

Odds of winning one of the two remaining top prizes in the ($10) Big Money game are 1 in 500,000. Three top prizes are left on the FAN-tastic! game with odds of 1 in 432,000.

For selling the claimed winning ticket, EZ Stop 3 received a commission of $2,500 and Oakbrook Express earned $1,000.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $3 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
