Sewer Main Failure to be Repaired on Orangeburg Rd

About 6,000 gallons of sanitary sewer overflow happened after main failure on Orangeburg Road.

A sewer main failed at 216 Orangeburg Road Monday, resulting in a sanitary sewer overflow over about 6,000 gallons, according to a Dorchester County press release.

Dorchester County Water and Sewer personnel have contained the spill, and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has been notified. Upon notification, the site was visited Tuesday by a SCDHEC official. The pipe will be repaired, and the surrounding areas will be disinfected, according to Dorchester County.
