Two Dorchester Two Schools Vie for Palmetto's Finest, Announcement Monday

Two Dorchester County School District Two school are among the eight finalists for the Palmetto's Finest Schools Awards.

Eight South Carolina schools are finalists for the 2013 Palmetto’s Finest Schools Awards. The S.C. Association of School Administrators (SCASA) presents the coveted awards each year to schools which offer the best in innovative, effective educational programs. These awards are presented after extensive evaluations by fellow educators and previous Palmetto’s Finest winners.

Ashley Ridge High School and Fort Dorchester Elementary School in Dorchester School District Two are among the eight state finalists for this year’s award. The finalist schools will gather in their schools on 4 p.m. Monday, March 11, to learn which have won the top honors. SC ETV will stream the announcement live to each of the finalist schools.

Ashley Ridge High School and Fort Dorchester ElementaryΒ schools have programs planned in conjunction with the state announcement on Monday. The programs will begin at each school around 3:45 p.m.

  • Hammond Hill Elementary, Aiken County
  • Jesse Boyd Elementary, Spartanburg 7
  • CrossRoads Middle, Lexington District 5
  • Hanahan Middle, Berkeley CountyΒ 
  • Ashley Ridge High, Dorchester Two
  • East Clarendon Middle/High, Clarendon 3
  • Marrington Middle School of the Arts, Berkeley County
