Woman, Daughter Found Dead in Sangaree Home

A grisly double homicide has been reported in a Summerville neighborhood after a school did a welfare check on an absent student, multiple media outlets report. 

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury reported the deaths Tuesday. The home where the woman and her daughter were found was on Kershaw Road, near the intersection of 17-A and I-26.

According to reports, Sangaree Intermediate officials authorized a welfare check after a student was marked absent this week.

It is not known how long the bodies were inside the home, and cause of death is under investigation. The manner of death is being investigated as a double homicide.
