Applications Open For Tennessee's Tuition-Free Adult College Plan

Gov. Bill Haslam announced that Tennessee adults can begin applying for a program offering tuition-free college education.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Adult students across Tennessee can begin applying for tuition-free enrollment at the state's community and technical colleges.

Application for the Tennessee Reconnect program can be completed online. Enrollees need to apply to a community college or other eligible institution, file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form and enroll in a degree or certificate program at least part-time.

A student cannot already have an associate's or bachelor's degree, must be a Tennessee resident for at least one year and must receive "independent student" certification from FAFSA.
