'Kingpin Granny' Arrested In Rural Tennessee Drug Bust

Decatur County Sheriff's investigators arrested a 75-year-old woman accused of leading a massive prescription drug ring.

PARSONS, TN -- Investigators in a rural Tennessee county say they've busted a huge illegal prescription drug ring led by a 75-year-old woman.

The so-called "Kingpin Granny," 75-year-old Betty Jean Jordan, is charged with three counts of manufacturing/delivery/sale/possession of schedule II drugs, two counts of possession of a legend drug with intent to sell, possession of a legend drug and evading arrest.

As part of a long-term investigation, detectives in Decatur County -- a county of 12,000 people 100 miles west of Nashville -- said they found more than 1,000 prescription pills, including morphine, Oxycodone and Xanex, and more than $12,000 during a search of Jordan's home in Parsons Feb. 9.
