2 Arrested After Brutal South Nashville Stick-Up
Two men are charged with pistol-whipping and shooting a man before stealing his phone and fleeing in a stolen car.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police arrested two men for a brutal, violent mugging in a South Nashville apartment complex parking lot.
Investigators say Donovan Palmer, 24 and Deonte Spears, 21 , pistol-whipped, shot and robbed a man of his cell phone outside the Whispering Hills Apartments on McMurray Drive around 1:15 Monday morning.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects fled the scene in a red Chevrolet Impala, which had been reported stolen from a Murfreesboro Pike car lot, detectives say. Palmer and Spears were pulled over and arrested on Main Street in East Nashville around 3:15 a.m. Monday.

Police said two handguns, one of which had been reported stolen, were under the front seat of the car.
Spears and Palmer are both charged with aggravated robbery, felon in possession of a weapon, vehicle theft, and theft. They are held on $75,000 bond.
