63-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed On Old Hickory Boulevard

NASHVILLE, TN —A 63-year-old man was hit and killed while crossing Old Hickory Boulevard late Tuesday night.

Metro Police said Dismace Murego was dressed all in black and crossing Old Hickory Boulevard at Hickory Plaza Drive, but was not in the crosswalk, and was hit by a car driven by 59-year-old Wanda Johannsen, who told investigators she was unable to avoid the collision as she saw Murego too late.

Murego was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Metro Police said there was no indication of drug or alcohol in the crash.
