Antioch-South Nashville is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Antioch-South Nashville has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.

A few things to know:

  • Did you know that Antioch is home to the Hindu temple Sri Ganesha Temple, which was modeled after Chola dynasty architecture? The temple features stunning architecture and hosts regular events and cultural festivals, making it a unique and fascinating destination for visitors.
  • South Nashville is home to the iconic Nashville Zoo, which features over 3,000 animals and covers over 188 acres. Visitors can explore the zoo's many exhibits, including the African Savannah, the Jungle Gym and the Grassmere Historic Home and Farm.
  • For a unique outdoor experience, head to Radnor Lake State Park in South Nashville. The park features over 1,300 acres of protected land, including an 85-acre lake and several hiking trails. Visitors can spot a variety of wildlife, including otters, mink and over 200 species of birds.
  • South Nashville is home to the Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, a stunning 55-acre botanical garden and historic mansion. Visitors can explore the mansion's art collections and gardens, including a Japanese garden and a sculpture trail, as well as attend special events and concerts throughout the year.
  • South Nashville is home to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, which hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the Tennessee State Fair, music festivals and flea markets. Visitors can also check out the buildings and attractions on the fairgrounds, including the Show Arena and Expo Center.
