Carjacked Man Shot At While Chasing His Own Car

Carjackers shot at a man trying to chase down his Jeep in Priest Lake early Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, TN — A man told police carjackers shot at him when he tried to retrieve his stolen Jeep in Priest Lake early Tuesday morning.

The man was checking his mail on Bell Road when a man got out of an SUV and demanded his Jeep Liberty at gunpoint and then drove off as the SUV followed.

The man and a friend then canvassed the area for the Jeep, spotting it at a gas station near Murfreesboro Pike and Smith Springs Road. The man and his friend confronted the carjacker, who then sped off, but were followed by the victim.

The victim told police the carjacker fired a shot at him on Bell Road near Harbor View Drive. No one was hit by the bullet, nor where there any other injuries.

An investigation continues.
