Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:
- The California to Tennessee economic pipeline is bringing millions of dollars in investment, with the latest addition being the In-N-Out burger chain joining Williamson County. Mitsubishi, Kaiser Aluminum, and Nissan are other companies that have shifted from California to Williamson County and increased their economic investment throughout the area. Matt Largen, CEO and President of Williamson Inc., said this migration is crucial because it will help grow the economy and "create opportunities for our residents, for our friends, family, and neighbors." (WJHL.com)
- After a high-speed chase, with the community's help, Williamson County authorities located and arrested Dannie Bonds, one of the alleged carjacking suspects who stole catalytic converters. Four others abandoned their vehicles and fled to evade the Franklin Police Department, leaving Bonds behind. Residents of the area were shocked something like this would happen in their neighborhood; one resident explained, "it's very, very quiet down here ... I have never even heard a loud neighbor." (WKRN.com)
- The Williamson County Rescue Squad (WCRS) announced two of its members were promoted to the newly-created position of District Chief to expand the department. Barry Burris joined the WCRS in 2006, and Adam Wade joined the WCRS in 2004; they held positions as captain and lieutenant before their promotions. The Rescue Squad Chief noted that "each one brings a unique style of management," and this new change will help the WCRS continue its success. (The NEWS - TN)
