Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:
- A man accused of stealing a gun that had been stashed in a bush outside Nashville International Airport (BNA) has been arrested on felony theft charges. According to arrest documents, a BNA employee who works for a cleaning service contacted Nashville Airport Police on Thursday, Mar. 16, saying she had hidden her firearm in a bush at a terminal garage because she was running late for work. When she returned, her gun was missing. A surveillance video led investigators to Arius A. Boydβs home and found the stolen gun inside. Boyd is being held on a $2,000 bond for felony theft of a firearm worth less than $2,500. (WKRN)
- Vanderbilt University's Curriculum Committee is pilot-testing two classes as part of the new A&S liberal arts core. As part of the College of Arts and Science's initiative to restructure the AXLE curriculum, Professor Paul Stobβs βBeing Human, Becoming Citizensβ and professor Michael Bessβs βScience, Technology, Valuesβ courses will serve as blueprints for potential future common courses for all A&S first-year students. - The community outreach meeting for the Envision Franklin land use plan update is slated for Wednesday, Mar. 22, at Columbia State Community College. There will be two-time slots available, one at 11 a.m. and the other at 5 p.m. The meeting will be to collect feedback from the community, specifically on character and placemaking, housing, conservation, growth areas, and the regional commerce areas along I-65.
