- The Community Outreach for the Envision Franklin Update will continue at Columbia State Community College on Wednesday, Mar. 22 with two different sessions from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The community should use these meetings to provide feedback on things they would like to see in their community, such as housing changes, areas of growth, conservation, and more. All of the feedback received in these updates will be considered and scripted into the plans to better Franklin in the future as there will always be room for improvement. (Williamson Source)
- This month's FrankTalks event will be taking place on Monday, Mar. 20 at the Williamson County Enrichment Center here in Franklin at 9 a.m. The theme of this program will be "People to Know" and will feature local leaders you need to know in 2023, such as CEO Tyrus Sturgis, COO Christopher Swafford, and performers Patrick Thomas and Rachel Potter. The event will start with a coffee social with the Lyon Leadership Group. (Williamson Source)
- A new proposed law would change of who makes up the board of authority for the Nashville International Airport in nearby Nashville. Since 1969, the airport has been governed by a board of authority that has been appointed by the mayor, but if the proposed bill is passed, the appointments will change from the mayor and the council to the mayor, governor, speaker of the house, and lieutenant governor. The law was discussed yesterday morning, and further information is expected to come soon. (WZTV)
