Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. This weekend, the CoolSprings Galleria Carnival is happening right here in Franklin. The popular spring carnival will be held in the mall parking lot behind the Men's Belk store. There's a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, including carnival games, rides, and food. You can purchase a wristband for $30 or you can buy a variety of ticket packages for different prices. The carnival is open Saturday 1 to 11 p.m. as well as Sunday and Monday from 1 to 10 p.m.(Williamson Source)
  2. For the rest of the month of May, Metro Animal Care and Control will be waiving adoption fees in hopes of finding more pets in their forever home and fighting against the overcrowding issue in shelters. There are currently over 100 cats and dogs that are available for adoption and around 100 are currently being fostered. The shelter is open from 12 to 4 p.m. seven days a week for prospective pet parents to check out the animals for adoption. If you are interested in any animals currently being fostered, you can email the shelter for more information. (News Channel 5 Nashville)
  3. It is gearing up to be another beautiful weekend in Franklin, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy solo or with the family. You can check out the Franklin Rodeo that will be in town through tonight or you can check out "Here You Come Again" at the Franklin Theatre if you are in the mood for a show. Other things going on in Williamson County today include the Owl's Hill Native Plant Sale in Brentwood and the Carter's Creek Station Antiques Market in Columbia. (Williamson Source)
