Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. The Factory at Franklin is being renovated for a revitalization project, and construction equipment is currently in the parking lot. The project's goal is to reopen the Grand Hall and bar area with an estimated completion by April. Jeni's Ice Cream will also return to the renovated space. (News Channel 5 Nashville)
  2. In nearby Nashville, Mayor John Cooper is signing a bill to modify street vendor regulations. The proposed bill will allow the Nashville Department of Transportation to issue permits and enforce the rules in addition to enforcement from the Metro Police Department. The bill also includes restricted vending areas to better regulate street vending and resolve challenges faced by the Metro Police Department in enforcing rules. (WKRN News 2)
  3. Two bills are being considered by Tennessee lawmakers that could amend the state's current abortion ban. The proposed changes include amendments to protect pregnant individuals from rape or incest and to safeguard the lives of mothers experiencing life-threatening pregnancies. The state's strict abortion ban went into effect six months ago. (WZTV)
