Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. Franklin's purification test facility could be the first in the state to focus on augmenting drinking water supplies. The move would help the city's budget while also increasing the availability of water, as two-thirds of the city's water supply is purchased, according to Michelle Hatcher, the director of the city's water management. The small-scale test facility, located at the intersection of the Harpeth River and Interstate 65, produces upwards of 10 gallons of purified water per minute. (Tennessean)
  2. The Franklin Theater will welcome Sister Hazel on Jun. 1. The historic downtown property, located at 419 Main St., will open its doors one hour before the 8:00 p.m. showtime. To purchase tickets, click here. (Williamson Source)

  • Franklin celebrated National Travel and Tourism Week by holding a collection of events that honored the area’s budding tourism scene. Visit Franklin President and CEO Maureen Haley Thornton noted that Williamson County brought in $1 billion through visitors. (The News TN)
  • A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Tuesday. The forecast is calling for a few storms that may bring with them damaging winds. (WSMV 4)
  • Voting machines will remain as is in Williamson County. The Williamson County Commission voted against purchasing new electronic equipment despite recommendations from local politicians. (Tennesseean)
