Franklin 2nd Grader Run Down In Hit And Run: Police

Franklin Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a second-grader walking with her mother.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Franklin Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 7-year-old walking with her mother Friday night.

Police say the second-grader was hit by an older model dark green 4-door, similar to the 1997 Honda Accord LX pictured above. She was walking alongside her mother on Alexander Drive near Draper court around 7 p.m. when she was struck. The driver sped away.

The girl is at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Franklin Police are offering a $1,000 reward in the case and are asking area residents to check home surveillance for any footage of the car.
