Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:
- Parents at the Covenant School are requesting that a Franklin alderman resigns after saying the school shooter was involved in a love triangle with school staff. Alderman Gabrielle Hanson said this on a podcast and then stood by her statement in a radio interview later on; she has not responded to any calls to speak with other news outlets. Most people believe the claims she makes are false, and the city of Franklin has received around 60 complaints about Hanson at this point. (WSMV 4)
- Battleground Academy is hosting summer camps for rising K-12 students in Williamson County beginning on May 30. Full-day or half-day options are available, with a variety of fun activities led by qualified faculty to keep children entertained and engaged. Those who wish to register or learn more about the programs can do so here. (williamsonherald.com)
- In nearby Nashville, police are currently investigating an incident where self-defense has been claimed after Adrian Mosley fatally shot Jeffrey Hardney Jr. outside an apartment complex. According to officers, Mosley approached Hardney after noticing he was peaking in his apartment windows; in that confrontation, Hardney began to fire shots, after which Mosley returned fire and took Hardney's life. Initially, Mosley denied going outside with a gun or having one in the apartment before detectives found parts of an assault rifle and bullet magazines inside. Mosley also admitted to throwing part of a rifle and pistol into the woods before police arrived; detectives are still determining if his self-defense claim is valid. (WZTV)
