In September 2016, 30 firefighters from five different fire stations fought a fire at the studio for nearly four hours. In the earlier blaze, crews arrived at the business around 11 p.m. to find smoke in the attic. The fire eventually spread from the street-level studio up into the second-floor apartment, forcing firefighters to take on the blaze via aerial ladder. One firefighter had to be hospitalized after that incident.
