  1. A 23-year-old man, Justin Wakefield, has been charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a shooting incident in nearby East Nashville. Wakefield admitted to being the shooter after an argument between him and the driver resulted in two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men had life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh. (WKRN News 2)
  2. The approval of the Franklin Pride Festival is still pending as the city board delayed the vote and suggested pushing it back for two weeks to wait for the approval of a new policy called "choose decency." Many hope that this policy will help enforce stricter rules on the festival and keep it more "controlled." This comes after a law was enforced earlier this month banning "adult-oriented performances" from public property, which has a significant impact on the LGBTQ community. (Subscription: Tennessean)
  3. Williamson County leaders and the community are grappling with ways to keep children safe after the recent tragedy at The Covenant School in Nashville. Parents and staff are seeking answers to ensure the most protection for students. While the budget for school security was increased this year, more needs to be done to ensure the safety of children on a day-to-day basis. (Subscription: Tennessean)
