  1. Franklin Special School District outperformed the rest of Tennessee in every core subject area. According to this year's TCAP data, the district posted 17 percent higher in English/language arts, 20 percent higher in math, 17 percent higher in science, and 23 percent higher in social studies. The district has attributed the stellar results to dedicated teachers, families, and administrators. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Livability's list of top 100 places to live in the U.S. for 2022 has ranked Franklin in the 13th spot. The list compared downtown Franklin to the vibe of the downtown in the popular television show Gilmore Girls. Franklin's boutiques, coffee shops, and eateries were highlighted. Knoxville barely made the list at the 98th spot. (Williamson Source)
  3. Franklin's Royal Oaks Boulevard Starbucks location is closed. The store announced its closure for renovations with the promise of big changes heading to the store. The location will likely reopen in late Sept. 2023. Coffee fanatics are being rerouted to Caffe Artisan, Southerners Coffee truck, and Just Love Coffee. (Williamson Source)
