Franklin Shoplifter Arrested With Pot, Pistol: Police
A 27-year-old woman accused of trying to steal $1,900 in merchandise from the Cool Springs Target had marijuana and a handgun, police say.

FRANKLIN, TN — A pistol-packing, pot-pocketing woman tried stealing $1,900 in merchandise from the Cool Springs Target Friday, according to Franklin Police.
Store security detained Lanika Cartwright, 27, of Nashville, around 3:30 Friday afternoon. While she was being questioned by police, officers say she made several attempts to reach for her purse.

Inside the purse, officers found a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report.
Cartwright, who investigators say initially gave them a false name, is charged with felony theft, unlawful possession of a weapon, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal impersonation. She is free on a $9,000 bond.
