Franklin Thieves Saw Into Jewelry Store Vault

Franklin detectives believe thieves spent hours sawing into a vault to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

FRANKLIN, TN — Thieves spent hours using a circular saw to cut into a vault at a Franklin jewelry store and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry late Thursday night, detectives say.

Sometime after 11 p.m. Thursday at Crown Jewelry & Gifts on Murfreesboro Road, the thieves first cut through the roof to enter the store.

Once inside, the thieves are believed to have spent several hours using a circular saw to cut through drywall and into the vault after "defeating several security measures that were in place," according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Franklin Police or Williamson County Crime Stoppers.
