- A Franklin man named Karl Hampton, along with his wife, was indicted and charged with conspiracy and money laundering in 2021. Hampton was found guilty of 12 felony counts for defrauding an elderly woman with dementia of over one million dollars. The scholarship is given annually to high school seniors or college students who demonstrate their commitment to Williamson County through service and community leadership.
