Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. The Williamson County Convention & Visitors Bureau (known as Visit Franklin) is celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week by highlighting the positive impact of tourism in Williamson County. It will be offering free visitor experiences and showcasing how tourism contributes over one billion in direct economic impact, benefiting the local economy and reducing taxes for households. The week includes presentations, proclamations, and an Ambassador program, inviting residents to explore local attractions and join the tourism community for ongoing benefits and opportunities. 2. The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County has identified nine historically significant structures as "Sites to Save" and eight additional ones as "Sites to Watch" during the start of historic preservation month. Concerned about their age, condition, or potential development threats, the foundation seeks community support to preserve these buildings. In addition, Franklin has been chosen by the Tennessee Historic Commission to host a regional gathering of southeastern historic commissioners. (WKRN News)
  3. Last week, a couple from California was unexpectedly arrested near their recently acquired residence in Franklin following a routine traffic stop. The authorities discovered a range of illicit substances, such as black tar heroin laced with fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia. Shockingly, it was revealed that one of the individuals had come to Franklin to work at a drug rehab center. (WKRN News)
