Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. Earlier this week, FirstBank Mortgage held an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new location opening in downtown Franklin. In addition to the more localized support from FirstBank Mortgage with its new location, this also allows for it to provide even more support in the community. The bank is a big sponsor for the larger events in the area and has won many awards in diversity and inclusion. (williamsonherald.com)
  2. Several Williamson County Schools Robotics Teams traveled to Dallas late last month to compete in the World Robotics Championships from Apr. 25 through May 4. Two teams from Brentwood High School competed in their division; one group came in third place in the qualifying round before ultimately falling out of the quarter-finals. Ravenwood High School also brought three teams to the competition with one placing in 13 and making their way into the divisional round; Brentwood Middle School also brought four teams to the competition to compete. 3. Nearby in Antioch, an investigation is currently underway for a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning that left one person critically injured. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 700 block of Bell Road; there is currently not much information surrounding the incident, as the victim was transported to the emergency room by an individual without much knowledge. The victim was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment after being delivered to the emergency room. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. (WKRN News 2)
