  1. Fusion Academy recently opened its first location in Franklin, with more than 30 enrolled students. Fusion Academy is located in the Meridian area of Cool Springs, offering spaces for one-on-one learning, a recording studio, and a fitness center. The unique educational institution aims to provide "more creativity and more freedom in the classroom." (Williamson Herald)
  2. Nurses for Newborns, a local nonprofit, is fighting against a startling statistic stating that 1 in 11 newborns doesn't reach their first birthday. The nonprofit sends registered nurses out to families with newborns to provide them with free home visits and resources in eight counties in middle Tennessee, including Franklin. As part of its fundraising efforts, Nurses for Newborns will be hosting its annual "Night for Newborns" event on Apr. 28 at The Factory at Franklin. (WKRN)
  3. A 22-year-old man was charged with murder in Franklin for his alleged role in shooting an 18-year-old man in early April. According to public records, 22-year-old Ruai Ngundeng Pal faces charges of burglary with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, intimidation, and pointing a firearm at another person. (WTHR)
