🌱 Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival + Man Arrested On Broadway

  1. This year's Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is set to be held Sept. 23-24 at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, in addition to the Americana Music Triangle (AMT) making its traditional return for another year. The festival will feature some well-known figures in the Franklin community such as SiriusXM personality and resident Buzz Brainard emceeing and resident Kevin Griffin will assist in production, along with headliners like The Lumineers and Zach Bryan.   2. Over the weekend nearby in Nashville, 44-year-old Jamar Love was accused of pointing a gun at people and cursing on Broadway. On Sunday night around 10:30 p.m. a woman flagged down Nashville police officers to report a man was waving what appeared to be an old-style black revolver at people. Officers found Love based on the appearance description and he was later confirmed to be the suspect by the alleged victim. It was reported that a weapon was not found on Love or in the immediate area, and he was booked in the Metro Jail with a bond set at $15,000. Love was charged with felony assault. (WKRN News 2)
  3. The sixth annual Preservation Symposium and Award will be held at the Foundation's History & Culture Center of Williamson County in Franklin this August. Each year, the award recognizes those who have shown various levels of commitment to the community. It has been requested by the Heritage Foundation that the community submits its nominees for the various awards by Jul. 15 β€” the nomination form and extra information can be found here. From my notebook:

  • The Park at Harlinsdale Farm was the prime location to be on the Fourth of July with a perfect view of the fireworks show. In addition to the show, there was live music, games for the family, and a bunch more to do for an afternoon filled with fun. (City of Franklin, TN - Municipal Government via Facebook)
  • Next Monday, the July FrankTalks will be taking place at Columbia State Community College focused on transportation throughout the city of Franklin.   • A friendly reminder was provided by the Franklin Fire & Police Departments that fireworks, sparklers, and sky lanterns are illegal in the city. The sale of fireworks also is illegal in Franklin.
