Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. Two women were arrested in Franklin for stealing almost $100,000 in merchandise from more than 45 stores. Both women, Isabela Tomescu, 26, of Oklahoma City, and Daniela Listor, were charged with organized retail crime and felony theft. The women were caught when security at a Franklin Kohl's location recognized them from an online retail theft information-sharing system. (WSMV)
  2. Franklin Police Officer and Country Music star Jeff Carson was honored in Washington, D.C., as his name was added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Carson joined the police force when he was at the height of his music career at 44 years old. Carson passed from a heart attack in March 2022 after performing a benefit concert for a fellow officer fighting COVID-19. (WKRN)
  3. One Nashville resident could not purchase tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras tour, so he became a security guard at the Nissan Stadium to attend the performance instead. While working security, Nashville accountant Davis Perrigo could not take out his phone during the concert, but he sang along anyway. Videos of the singing security guard went viral on TikTok, garnering more than 6 million views. β€œIt really was a blessing that I didn’t get tickets,” Perrigo said. (WPSD Local 6)
