Williamson County Election Results: May 1 Primaries

Incumbent county mayor Rogers Anderson sailed to victory Tuesday.

FRANKLIN, TN -- Rogers Anderson is all but certain to return as county mayor, after squashing challenger Kenneth Eaton by 57 points in Tuesday's Williamson County primaries.

Nearly 15,000 voters - just 10 percent of those registered - cast ballots in Tuesday's primaries, which essentially decide who will lead Williamson County government, as the Republican primary is tantamount to election in the deeply-red county.

Incumbents had a successful day overall, with county clerk Elaine Anderson and juvenile court clerk Brenda Hyden beating back challenges.

In the only open countywide race, former county Republican Party chair Sherry Anderson defeated 30-year register of deeds office employee Julie Hannah by 2,000 votes or 16 percent to win the Republican nomination for Register of Deeds. After 32 years as Register, Sadie Wade is retiring.
