There are candidates for all offices in the Republican Party primary, but Democrats only have qualified candidates in a handful of the county commission slots, making the GOP primary tantamount to election for most positions. While crossover voting is common in situations like this in Tennessee, which does not have party registration, the county election commission last week voted, along party lines, to forward to the district attorney complaints of election fraud against County Commission District 4 candidate Anne McGraw and House District 63 candidate Bill Peach, who are both running as Democrats, for voting in the Republican primary. State law says voters can only vote in a party primary if they are a "bona fide member" of the party and if they "declare allegiance to the political party" and intend to affiliate with it.

Voters will need to bring an approved photo ID to vote. Find your polling place by consulting the map or punching in an address here; on Election Day, voters must cast ballots at their assigned precinct.
