Stanley McChrystal raises more than $1.4 million for student scholarships (wbbjtv.com) — Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson raised more than $1.47 million for student scholarships at its 61st Annual Benefit Dinner earlier this month, continuing a 25-year streak above the $1 million mark. Guests heard leadership insights from retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal and updates on the FHU NEXT capital campaign, which is funding new facilities, renovations, and infrastructure improvements on the Henderson campus.

• Annette Jones Maness (wbbjtv.com) — Henderson readers may recognize the Maness family, as Annette Jones Maness is survived by her son Jeffery Maness Jr. of Henderson. Loved for her faith, cooking, and time outdoors, she passed away December 15, with visitation December 17 and funeral services December 18 at Bells Funeral Home in Bells, Tennessee, followed by burial in Jackson.
