La Vergne Hires First Female Full-Time Firefighter

Brittney Barry, who worked part-time with the La Vergne Fire Department for 3 years, is now the city's first full-time female firefighter.

LA VERGNE, TN — La Vergne has its first full-time female firefighter.

Brittney Barry, who has worked three years as a part-time firefighter for the city, is now on the job full-time, a first for a woman in La Vergne. The Wilson Central High School graduate also worked with the Walter Hill Volunteer Fire Department.

"She's dedicated and a hard worker," Assistant Fire Chief Chris Clark said in a release. "We look forward to working with her in the future."
