La Vergne Homeowner Faces Murder Charge After Shooting
A La Vergne man is charged with murder after police determined a fatal shooting in his home was unjustified.

LA VERGNE, TN — A homeowner shot and killed a man inside his La Vergne home early Wednesday morning and is now facing a murder charge, according to police.
Officers were called to a Natchez Court North around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday after the homeowner reported he'd shot a man who was inside his house.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he died.
The motive is unknown, but police determined the shooting was unjustified.

The homeowner was charged with murder and booked into the Rutherford County Jail. Neither his name nor that of his victim have been released.
