La Vergne Melee, Shootout Shakes Neighborhood
A melee involving a dozen people in a La Vergne neighborhood ended with gunfire, unsettling a neighborhood.
LA VERGNE, TN — An altercation which began in Murfreesboro ended with a brawl and a shootout inside a La Vergne neighborhood early Saturday morning.
A group of 12 or 13 people traveling in two or three cars arrived at Plantation Drive, La Vergne Police said, and then began fighting, some of the brawlers using bats and tire irons.

One man was found after the fight shot twice and lying in the road.
Neighbors told WKRN that the shootout is alarming as such violence is unheard of in the area.
