La Vergne Sets 2018 Special Census
La Vergne wants more of those sweet state shared tax dollars and needs you to be counted.

LA VERGNE, TN -- La Vergne officials believe the city has grown enough since the 2010 federal census to merit a re-count and have set a special census for 2018.
Each municipality's portion of the state's shared taxes is based on population, but with the next federal count set for 2020, La Vergne stands to lose out on at least three years of increased funding without an updated count.
The census form is already available online and all the city wants is address and first and last names. A mailer will be sent to homes who don't complete the online form and special census representatives will begin door-knocking in February.

As an incentive, people who complete the online form qualify for a series of drawings for a $100 gift certificate held every two weeks starting Jan. 2.
Completed forms can also be returned to La Vergne City Hall located at 5093 Murfreesboro Road.
