Metro Police Officer Arrested In Smyrna
The Metro Nashville Police Department decommissioned an eight-year department veteran following an off-duty arrest in Smyrna.

SMYRNA, TN — The Metro Nashville Police Department decommissioned an eight-year veteran of the force following an arrest in Smyrna that came in the wake of a neighborhood dispute.
Michael Frith, 31, was arrested just after midnight Sunday. Frith and another person were told to stay off a neighbor's property. Frith then began "derogatorily shouting" at the neighbor's home, according to a Smyrna police report.

Smyrna Police responded to the dispute twice and the second time out, Frith refused to stop after being ordered to do so and then later would not return to the immediate scene. Frith is charged with resisting a police stop and evading arrest, both misdemeanors. He posted bond and was released.
The Office of Professional Accountability is conducting an investigation.
