Rutherford County Unemployment Down Again In September
The unemployment rate is below 5 percent in all 95 Tennessee counties, with Rutherford's at 2.3 percent.

NASHVILLE, TN — The unemployment rate in Rutherford County was 2.3 percent in September, down 0.6 percent from the August number, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The jobless figure fell in all 95 of Tennessee's counties for the second consecutive month and is now below 5 percent in every county.
Rutherford County is tied for the third-lowest unemployment rate in the state with Wilson, Sumner, and Cheatham counties. Williamson County had the state's lowest rate, as usual, at 2.1 percent, followed by Davidson County at 2.2 percent. Eight of the 10 lowest county numbers were in Middle Tennessee.
In the last year, the Rutherford County jobless number has fallen 1.9 percent.

The city-level rate in La Vergne was 2.5 percent and in Smyrna 2.2 percent, both down 0.5 percent from August.
The state rate, reported last week, is 3.0 percent, down 0.3 percent from August's adjusted figure.
