Rutherford County Unemployment Remains Among State's Lowest
Rutherford County's unemployment rate was unchanged in February.

NASHVILLE, TN — Rutherford County's unemployment held in February at 2.7 percent, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, tied for the third-lowest rate in the state with Cheatham County.
The unemployment rate decreased in 69 of the state's 95 counties, rose in five and was unchanged in 21 others.
Of the ten lowest county-level figures statewide, nine were in Middle Tennessee. Only Williamson (2.4 percent) and Davidson (2.6 percent) had lower jobless rates than Rutherford County.

In Smyrna, the city-level unemployment rate is estimated at 2.7 percent and in La Vergne, it is at 2.8 percent. Both are 0.1 percent drops from January.
Rutherford County's unemployment rate has dropped 0.7 percent since February 2017.

The state rate, reported last week, is 3.4 percent, up 0.1 percent from January's adjusted figure.
