After five years, Smyrna Town Manager Harry Gill Jr. will retire Aug. 31, he announced Tuesday.

SMYRNA, TN -- Smyrna Town Manager Harry Gill Jr. announced his retirement Tuesday.
“It has been my pleasure to work with the Town Council to make Smyrna a better place to live,” Gill, who has served as Town Manager since 2013, said. “I’m proud to have been a part of the creation of the Outdoor Adventure Center, the expansion of our pool facilities, the widening of Florence Road, the funding for the widening of Sam Ridley Parkway, and leading the Depot District renovation, all while increasing the Town’s ending fund balance by over 70 percent and without raising taxes on the citizens of Smyrna.”
Gill will leave office Aug. 31.
