Shelby County District Attorney: Motorist Indicted In Driveway Homicide

Feb. 25, 2022 – A 20-year-old man has been indicted on second-degree murder charges in the shooting of a motorist last year who had followed him to his mother’s home in southeast Memphis, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.

Defendant Tray Bledsoe also was indicted on one count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He is free on $75,000 bond.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Sept. 21, 2021, in the 1800 block of Myrna Lane where Bledsoe pulled into the driveway while another motorist stopped in the street at the end of the drive.

After a few minutes, the driver, Colton Burr, walked up the drive and exchanged words with Bledsoe, who pulled a gun and began shooting. He continued to shoot as Burr ran back down the drive and got into his car.
Burr, 32, was in the driver’s seat of his car where he later was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident was captured on a home security camera.
The case is being handled by Senior Felony Asst. Danielle McCollum of the District Attorney’s Vertical Team 1 which prosecutes cases in General Sessions 7 (Veterans Court) and in Criminal Court Division 1.
