• Northeast State celebrates 522 fall 2025 graduates (timesnews.net) — Northeast State Community College has celebrated 522 fall graduates, including Mountain City’s own Caleb Owens, who completed a pre-nursing program. The Blountville ceremony highlighted students’ perseverance, with speakers urging classmates from Mountain City and across the region to carry that determination into new jobs, further education, and community service.

• Share America Foundation Chooses Banjo Stylist/Vocalist Derek Stone As A Scholarship Designee (chattanoogan.com) — A young banjo player recently took first place at the Mountain City Fiddler’s Convention in Mountain City and has now been chosen for a Share America Foundation scholarship. Chattanooga 10th-grader Derek Stone, a multi-instrumentalist already winning major regional contests, will receive support for college as he pursues bluegrass performance, instrument building, and possibly mechanical engineering or music business.
