1. Is Roberta Doomed? (scnoneida.net) — A proposed landfill in North Oneida is running into major regulatory problems with Tennessee environmental officials, casting doubt on whether it will ever be built. TDEC’s latest letter cites numerous deficiencies in the project’s permit application, echoing concerns raised by hundreds of Oneida-area residents and regional environmental advocates worried about impacts on local streams and the Big South Fork. 
2. Four Arrested after Drug Investigation (scnoneida.net) — Four people were recently arrested after Scott County deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at an Oneida residence, seizing meth, marijuana, cash, and a vehicle. 3. TCAT and Scott County Sheriff's Office partner for work-based learning initiative (scnoneida.net) — Future corrections officers studying through TCAT Oneida/Huntsville will now train directly inside the Scott County Jail, thanks to a new work-based learning partnership with the Sheriff’s Office. Students will spend more than a quarter of their 8‑month program on-site at the Scott County Justice Center, complementing simulator training on the Oneida campus. This hands-on experience aims to strengthen Scott County’s workforce and reduce costly turnover in jail staffing.
4. TCAT students restore 1960s John Deere tractor (indherald.com) — Students at TCAT Oneida/Huntsville have completely restored a 1967 John Deere 3020 tractor in the diesel shop on the Oneida campus, logging more than 1,000 hours of hands-on work. The tractor, owned by educators Lee and Karen Little, went from rusting out to parade-ready and just rolled through downtown Oneida in the Scott County Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade. Locals interested in similar training can explore TCAT’s diesel program and other offerings at the Oneida campus.
