• Cooper Newman named Mr. Football (themountainpress.com) — Sevierville sports fans have a new hometown star to celebrate: Sevier County High School junior quarterback Cooper Newman has been named the Class 5A Mr. Football winner. After a record-setting season with 3,705 passing yards and 45 touchdowns, coaches and teammates praise his humility, work ethic, and leadership on and off the field.
   

• East TN man orders $21K in cabinets only to discover company is undergoing bankruptcy liquidation (wate.com) — A Sevierville cabin owner is fighting to recover more than $11,000 he paid for kitchen cabinets and a countertop after learning the Dandridge business he used is now in Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation. His Sevier County cabin was never updated, and he’s filed a report with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office while working with the U.S. Trustee to try to get his money back.
   

• Video shows bear crashing Gatlinburg Christmas parade. Watch (knoxnews.com) — A black bear briefly wandered through Gatlinburg’s Fantasy of Lights Christmas parade before safely returning to the woods, highlighting how common bears are in nearby Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Wildlife officials stress that bears den rather than fully hibernate, and they urge Sevier County residents and visitors to keep their distance and follow BearWise safety guidelines during encounters.
